Elan GT5
DECK AND INTERIOR DESIGN
When designing a sailboat defined by the inscription GT – Grand Turismo, we cannot ignore the design legacy defined by the GT car. Inspiration was found in the shapes of the sidelines of the windows and voluptuous rear quarter panels of these comfortable sports cars, made for enjoyment on long journeys. With this in mind, the Elan GT5 is designed and engineered. Comfort and performance are reflected in the shape of the deck, which follows the classic Elan lines and is complemented by previously defined lines of windows on the hull. In contrast to the traditional Elan sailboats, an arch in black is added above the entrance. It visually separates the cabin from the cockpit and stands out as a graphic element, giving the sailboat a recognizable dynamic look and paved the road for the bigger sister Elan GT6, which was designed by the famous Porsche design studio.
We had to find a distinctive detail that would harmonize the interior, feel elegant and nautically, and would also outline a new line in the development of the interior of Elan sailboats.
BEAUTY IN DETAILS AND PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS
Since the front cabin has no windows, the proposed solution was adopted with backlight on the side panels, which gives a feeling of daylight. Much attention was paid to the shape and usability of the bathroom space. We also used typical detail on all doors, dining table, and stairs. In the kitchen, we have developed a special glass cabinet.
VISUAL IMAGE
A selection of upholstery materials and color combinations with the furniture, as well as buttons with engraved signs on the pillows are details that elevate the well-being in the interior to a whole new dimension.
